Open Play and the first thing you see is a name box. Use 3 to 16 characters: letters, numbers, a dash or an underscore. Anything else gets a shake and a plain-English reason, so you fix it in a second.

Not feeling creative? RANDOMIZE rolls a pilot name like Comet-Seven or Kestrel-Two. Roll until one fits, then go.

Press JOIN BATTLE (or Enter) and you spawn into a running match. Got a friend's invite link? It lands you in their game with the same one-box step.
Keep it
4. It is saved for next time
Your callsign is remembered between sessions on that browser, so the next match skips the prompt. Want a new one? Change it any time under Options.
Where your name shows up
- » Over your ship, so every pilot in the sector knows who just took their scrap.
- » In the live standings, and on the crown if you take the lead (see bounty for what that puts on your head).
- » In the kill feed, as the name on "Eliminated by".
- » On the round-end card next to VICTORY or DEFEAT, which is the screenshot you share.
- Pick something you would want a rival to remember. They will, and revenge is a real loop.
